A 32-year-old Indian guy was stabbed to death in the Modesto City of US when he was closing a store at night on Thursday.
According to his relatives in Kapurthala, the victim, Jagjit Singh, struggled for his life for approximately 9 hours in the hospital before dying of injuries.
Jagjit had moved to the United States about a year and a half back. His brother-in-law K S Cheema told a customer had come to the store to buy cigarettes on Thursday & Jagjit asked for his ID proof.
Finding the proof incorrect, he asked for a valid paper. An argument ensued and the customer left.Later at 11.50pm, when Jagjit was closing the store, an unknown person stabbed him with a knife & left him seriously injured, Cheema told.

An Indian-origin couple has been shot in a likely revenge attack by their daughter’s ex-boyfriend who too was eventually shot dead in a stand-off with police in the American state of California.
“Mirza Tatlic, 24, fatally shot Naren Prabhu, a Silicon Valley tech executive, and his wife at their home in San Jose. The suspect had been in a dating relationship with the victims’ adult daughter who was not at home,” San Jose police chief Eddie Garcia told. “The relationship ended last year.”
“When officers arrived, they saw an adult man deceased in the front doorway. Officers learnt from the son that his mother and 13-year-old brother along with the suspect were inside,” police told.
Garcia added that the suspect declined to surrender. Officers then went into the house & found the 2 deceased victims and the dead suspect, Garcia told PTI
Malayali doc found dead in car in Michigan
A 32-year-old United States-based doctor from Mavelikkara in Kerala was found dead inside his car in Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday night.
A urology resident at Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Ramesh Kumar’s car was spotted parked in a rest area along a highway. A police charge was filed after he failed to report to work.
Ramesh’s father Dr. Narendra R Kumar was the former president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) & the Association of Kerala Medical Graduates.
