Indian passport holders with a valid United States visa or a Green Card will be eligible to get UAE visa on arrival at all ports beginning May 1, officials announced on Tuesday.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation (MOFAIC) this week distributed a letter to authorities to allow the UAE visa to Indians with valid America visa or Green Card following a Cabinet decision last month.
Shaikh Khaled Bin Essam Al Qassimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah, informed on Tuesday that the announcement followed the ministry’s instructions.
The circular was given to every UAE borders points, covering airports and ports, he told.
Officials at the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs in Dubai approved that they will start executing the order on May 1.
It also offers to achieve UAE’s vision to be the leading nation in attracting global tourism.
“Citizens of the Republic of India who are holders of normal passports with a six-month, or more, valid green card or visa issued by the United States of America shall be granted entry visas to the UAE from all ports for a period of 14 days, subject for a single renewal for the same period upon payment of applicable fees,” an official statement announced earlier in March.
According to modern figures, the UAE-India trade has grown to about $60 billion (Dh220 billion) per annum, making India the 2nd largest trading partner of UAE. The UAE exports to India added $27 billion (Dh99 billion) while Indian exports to UAE added $33 billion (Dh121 billion).
The no. of Indian tourists getting to the UAE last year reached nearly 1.6 million Indian tourists, & there were about 50,000 UAE tourists who visited India in the same year. There are approximately 143 flights a day between the UAE & Indian cities, at a rate of 1000 flights per week.
Strong bonds of friendship within UAE and India have found clear expression in the series of high-level bilateral visits between the 2 nations in the past 2 years, The move of giving entry visas to the UAE aligns itself with the close cooperation between the 2 countries.
UAE visa on arrival for Indians with US Green Card or US visa
Indian passport holders with valid America visa or Green Card will get UAE visa on arrival and valid for fourteen days, extendable for a similar period one time only.
The validity of the passport must be not less than 6 months and the fee for an entry permit will be Dh100.
The fee for one-time extension of the entry permit will be Dh250.
Currently, citizens of 47 nations apart from the GCC nations, can get visa on arrival.
Citizens of the following nations do not require advance visa arrangements to enter the UAE and can obtain a visa upon arrival for 90 days:
