Star Wars fans have been going ga-ga over the latest Star Wars film release, but for the non-fans, do you know what is Star Wars about There is a civil war going on in the galaxy. Apparently, it goes by the name of trade disputes. Star Wars is the story of two protagonists: Anakin and Luke. The tale is interlinked. There is a connection between the protagonists. The Prequel trilogy tells you the story of Anakin. While the Original trilogy tells you the story of Luke.
The Prequel Trilogy is as follows:
- Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace (1999)
- Star Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones (2002)
- Star Wars: Episode 3– Revenge of the Sith (2005)
The Original Trilogy is as follows:

Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace
In this film, the seeds of evil are first brought to the viewers. It all starts with a trade dispute that is ongoing between the Republic and the Trade Federation.
The keepers of peace and Justice otherwise known by the name of Jedi are sent to make peace. But on their way they are attacked moreover are saved by R2-D2 (a robot character) and they land in Tatooine. They also happen to meet a slave boy named Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon Jinn wants to take him as his apprentice, but the Council denies him. After a chain of events, Anakin is eventually taken under Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Qui-Gon Jinn is considered to be the greatest Jedi Master. Also, he is the mentor of Obi-Wan.
Star Wars: Episode 2- Attack of The Clones
Anakin as a grown up is now a Republic Loyalist. He is given the task to protect Sen Padme Amidala who he falls in love with.
Meanwhile, the Jedi has dispatched a clone army against Jango Fett who is believed to be an assassin. Count Dooku who was a former Jedi wants to attack the Republic with his droid army. Meanwhile, Galactic Senate gives Emergency powers to the Chancellor.
SPOILER: Eventually it is revealed that the Chancellor is Sith Lord who has been controlling Count Dooku and his droid army against the Republic.
Star Wars: Episode 3– Revenge of the Sith
In this film, the transformation of Anakin into Darth Vader takes place. Anakin sides with the Chancellor know that he is Sith Lord.
Padme gives birth to twins and dies of childbirth. The twins Luke and Leia are separated. Luke lands in Tatooine along with Obi-wan. Whereas, Leia lands in Alderaan.
Star Wars: Episode 4- A New Hope
Luke grows up as a farmer boy unaware of his past. Leia is leading a rebellion against the Empire. When Vader attacks her ship, Leia sneaks out to find information containing plans for Death Star. Death Star is the Empire’s weapon of destruction. She inserts the message into R2-D2. But the droids crash in Tatooine. Luke takes the help of Han Solo to get into Millenium Falcon to get to Alderaan.
Star Wars: Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes back
Here, Luke and Hank are in Hoth, an ice planet. Obi-Wan asks Luke to go to Dagobah to study the ways of Force with Master Yoda.
SPOILER: Darth Vader reveals himself to be the father of Luke.
Luke and Leia set on a mission to Tatooine to save Han. Leia is taken as a slave. Luke trains with Yoda.
Star Wars: Episode 6– Return of the Jedi
This movie shows the confrontation between father and son.
Vadar brings Luke to Death Stat to meet the Emperor. The Emperor asks Luke to kill Vadar to which he is refusing to call Vadar a Jedi. Vadar kills the Emperor and dies.
Star Wars: Episode 7– The Force Awakens
There is a new evil group growing called the First Order. The leader is an admirer of Vader, Kylo Ren.
